Frequently asked

Questions we hear from the field.

Nerve disorders may cause weakness, difficulty standing or walking, loss of coordination, reduced appetite, muscle wasting, and decreased milk production.

Nerve damage can result from vitamin B deficiencies, calving-related nerve injuries, metabolic disorders, trauma, prolonged recumbency, or infectious diseases affecting the nervous system.

Treatment involves correcting the underlying cause, providing nutritional support, supplementing essential neurotropic B vitamins, and initiating timely veterinary care to promote nerve repair and recovery.

Neurological therapy should be initiated as early as possible after diagnosis to improve recovery and minimize permanent nerve damage.

High-producing dairy animals, recently calved cows, growing calves, and animals recovering from severe illness are at higher risk.

Recovery depends on the severity and cause of the condition, ranging from a few days to several weeks with appropriate treatment and management.
